[Insert brief team introduction here]
Louise graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1999 and spent her first couple of years in mixed practice in Cornwall before starting a family with her husband Will, also a vet. After a career break raising their children, she returned to small animal practice whilst living in New Zealand. In 2014, she returned to the UK and started work in Lancaster at Bay Vets where she has happily worked ever since, becoming Lead First Opinion Vet in 2024.
As an experienced senior vet, Louise enjoys the rich variety of surgical and medical cases in general first opinion practice, with a particular love of elderly cats. She loves building relationships with people and their pets, enabling her to understand the needs and to provide the best possible care in their own unique circumstances. She is excited to be able to further develop individualised care of each pet in the stress-free environment of their home by starting a fully mobile veterinary service with Vets on the Meowve in her area.
Laura qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1998 whilst working in a mixed large and small animal practice.
Laura went on to work as Clinical Nursing Manager at the RSPCA Animal Hospital in Manchester for 11 years and developed an in-depth knowledge of caring for patients in a busy charity setting.
Following a short career break to care for her young family, Laura worked in an emergency and critical setting for 4 years where she developed an interest in emergency and critical care medicine.
Laura has worked consistently in referral and first opinion small animal practice for the past 10 years where she gained further experience and qualifications in anaesthesia and infection control.
Laura is passionate about providing the highest standard of care for every patient and client, and achieving the best possible outcomes for their futures.
